French Headband

This is the French headband. It wasn't very hard to learn, considering I already knew how to do a French braid. It's basically just a French braid, starting from the end of the left eyebrow and ending at the end of the right eyebrow, so it's a headband. The most complicated part was trying to keep all of the hair separated. Next, I will post my progress on the French braid, but for now, here is the French headband.

Progress on the Snake Braid

This braid is almost as easy as the simple 3 strand braid. In fact, all it is is the 3 strand braid with an extra step. You just do an easy 3 strand braid, then you take 2 strands in one hand and the other strand in the other. After that, you take the 2 strands and pull the in an upward motion along the braid, then spread it out. That's the end of the snake braid.  It may sound a little complicated now, but once you try it, it becomes quite easy.

Reflection

I've been doing lots of braids, but haven't been posting. I have 6 or 7 braids that I have pictures of to post, but I need to get caught up on actually posting them. I have done the snake braid, the French head band, the French twist,  and progress on my French braids. In my opinion, the latest French braids look pretty good. I've improved a lot. They have gotten to where they aren't loose on the head anymore, and just the braid in general looks better. Out of all the braids, I think the French head band was the hardest. It wasn't hard to learn, but it was hard to keep all of the hair separated and hold all of it. I need to keep working and keep improving, but for now, I think they're all pretty good.

Progress on the Flower Braid

I tried to do the flower braid this time, but it didn't exactly go as planned. I need a lot more practice to master the flower braid, but this is my progress on it. I've been working on other braids that I will soon post. I've worked on the fishtail braid some, the snake braid, which I will post next, and the upward lace braid. These 3 braids are not very hard to do, with the upward lace braid being the hardest and the snake braid being the easiest. I will keep practicing the flower braid, and until then, I will work on some new braids as well.

Reflection

On December 2nd, I searched 'the zipper braid' on YouTube and watched a video on how to do it. I practiced and posted my progress on that. It was a very easy braid to learn, so I didn't have to practice very much. Basically all you do is split your hair into 2 even pieces and one small piece, then you weave the smaller piece through the even pieces. Like I said in the post, next I will be working on the flower braid. With that, you have to do a dutch braid almost all the way around your head, then turn it and braid the other way until it's right above your neck, then braid it all the way to the bottom of the hair. Once you have done that, then you pull out one side of the braid until it looks pancaked on one side. Then, you roll the braid up with the pancaked side on the outside until it looks like a flower. After that, you pin it in place and add some hairspray to keep it from falling during the day and you're done! This braid is more complicated than it sounds, but I will keep practicing.

Progress on the Zipper Braid

Last time I posted, I showed you my progress on the waterfall braid and said that the next braid I learned would be the zipper braid. I had some difficulties with trying to keep the fly aways in the braid. The braid it's self is very easy to learn and do, but the girl I practiced the braid on had layers in her hair, so it was just a little bit harder. If you wanted to wear this braid, it would look good to start from the front of the heavier side of the hair, braid until you decide it's long enough, then bobby pin it. As I said in the last post, after the zipper braid, I will learn and practice the flower braid, so the flower braid will be my next project. The flower braid is harder than what I've been doing, so it will probably take me a little longer to learn and practice. But enough of that, for now, here is my progress on the zipper braid.

Progress on the Waterfall Braid

Like I've been saying, I will be posting pictures of my progress as I practice. I have been working on the waterfall braid. Before this, I practiced on the French braid and posted my progress of it. After this, I will work on the zipper braid, then, the flower braid. After that, I will practice the chain braid, then the bow bun, and finally, the pinwheel bun. But for now, here is my progress on the waterfall braid.
