Reflection

On December 2nd, I searched 'the zipper braid' on YouTube and watched a video on how to do it. I practiced and posted my progress on that. It was a very easy braid to learn, so I didn't have to practice very much. Basically all you do is split your hair into 2 even pieces and one small piece, then you weave the smaller piece through the even pieces. Like I said in the post, next I will be working on the flower braid. With that, you have to do a dutch braid almost all the way around your head, then turn it and braid the other way until it's right above your neck, then braid it all the way to the bottom of the hair. Once you have done that, then you pull out one side of the braid until it looks pancaked on one side. Then, you roll the braid up with the pancaked side on the outside until it looks like a flower. After that, you pin it in place and add some hairspray to keep it from falling during the day and you're done! This braid is more complicated than it sounds, but I will keep practicing.

Progress on the Zipper Braid

Last time I posted, I showed you my progress on the waterfall braid and said that the next braid I learned would be the zipper braid. I had some difficulties with trying to keep the fly aways in the braid. The braid it's self is very easy to learn and do, but the girl I practiced the braid on had layers in her hair, so it was just a little bit harder. If you wanted to wear this braid, it would look good to start from the front of the heavier side of the hair, braid until you decide it's long enough, then bobby pin it. As I said in the last post, after the zipper braid, I will learn and practice the flower braid, so the flower braid will be my next project. The flower braid is harder than what I've been doing, so it will probably take me a little longer to learn and practice. But enough of that, for now, here is my progress on the zipper braid.

Progress on the Waterfall Braid

Like I've been saying, I will be posting pictures of my progress as I practice. I have been working on the waterfall braid. Before this, I practiced on the French braid and posted my progress of it. After this, I will work on the zipper braid, then, the flower braid. After that, I will practice the chain braid, then the bow bun, and finally, the pinwheel bun. But for now, here is my progress on the waterfall braid.

Progress on the French Braid

As I said before, I will be posting braids and other hairstyles on this blog. You will be able to see my progress and once I get good enough, I will post tutorials to the braids and hairstyles, as well. The first braids and hairstyles I will be learning and practice are the zipper braid, the waterfall braid, the pinwheel bun, the French braid, the flower braid, the chain braid, and the bow bun. I will post pictures of my progress along the way. I will start with the french braid and waterfall braid, which I have already been practicing, then I will start practicing the zipper braid, next, the flower braid. After that, the chain braid, then, the bow bun, and finally, the pinwheel bun. Once I get good at all those, I will start on some different braids and hairstyles. Like I said earlier, I have been practice the French braid, so here is my progress on the french braid.
